Elden Ring is hard. Make a mistake with anything, a cliff, a boss, a jump -- and you're bound to be returned to your previous Site of Grace. The inevitable death is sure. It could even be the most important thing. It is through death that you can learn to conquer the seemingly impossible task of restoring peace to Elden Ring Runes The Lands Between, and become the Elden Lord. There will be a lot of deaths before you do however, and quite a few mods have been introduced to ease the process. But, the one Elden Ring modder is rebelling and has made the game more difficult.
"I believe I've seen about five or four 'easy mode' mods in the wild," creator Silentverge02 told MMOexp via direct messages. "They all basically had the same idea that was '50 percent less damage to enemies and health'. It's a bit unprofessional to me, I suppose."
As reported in PC Gamer, Silentverge02 released an unofficial mode for Elden Ring that alters certain aspects of FromSoftware's Souls-like game. Its Prepare To Die mod, available via Nexus Mods, does more than simply increase health and damage output. According to the description of the mod it boosts enemies' stats like damage resistance, defense, and damage up to New Game Plus levels, but keeps other stats such as health, focus points and stamina at the same. The AI of enemies is also a little more sophisticated thanks to this mod, meaning they can hear and see your presence from a distance, search for you longer and more intensely after you've left and are able to detect your backstab attempts.
Prepare To Die mod makes other changes. Prepare To Die mod makes some other adjustments as a wider field of view, delegating speedy travel to cathedrals and churches, as well as modifying New Game Plus to accommodate the additional difficulty and the adjustments to AI of enemies. In essence, the extremely difficult Elden Ring just got a much more difficult with cheap Elden Ring Runes this mod. Great.
